SnapComic ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered bilingual comic generator designed to help students understand textbook content through comics. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
SnapComic（"我们"或"本应用"）是一款 AI 驱动的双语漫画生成器，旨在帮助学生通过漫画理解教材内容。本隐私政策说明我们如何收集、使用和保护您的信息。
Google Account (Cloud Mode): If you choose to use Cloud Mode, we collect your email address and display name through Google Sign-In for authentication and account management. This information is stored in Firebase Authentication.

Purchase Records (Cloud Mode): When you purchase credits, we store your purchase records (product ID, purchase token, credits amount, timestamp) in our Cloud Firestore database to manage your credit balance.

Usage Logs (Cloud Mode): We record AI image generation requests (user ID, model used, credits consumed, timestamp) to track credit usage. No image content is stored.

Photos/Images: When you take a photo or select an image of a textbook page, the image is sent to Google Gemini API for content recognition and comic generation. We do not store these images on any server.

API Key (BYOK Mode): If you choose to use your own API key, it is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. It is never transmitted to our servers.

Generated Content: Comics, scripts, and vocabulary data are stored locally on your device only.

This app uses the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini API: For image recognition and content generation. Your textbook images and prompts are sent to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Authentication: For user sign-in (Cloud Mode). See Firebase Privacy.
• Cloud Firestore: For storing user account data and purchase records (Cloud Mode).
• Google Play Billing: For in-app purchases. Payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play.

BYOK Mode: All user data (characters, scan history, vocabulary, generated comics) is stored locally on your device. No data is transmitted to our servers.

Cloud Mode: Account information (email), credit balance, purchase records, and usage logs are stored in Google Cloud Firestore (us-central1 region). Generated comics and local content remain on your device.

You can delete all local app data at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app. Individual scan records and vocabulary can be deleted within the app. For Cloud Mode users, you can request account and data deletion through our deletion request form or by contacting us at yuqingteck@gmail.com.

SnapComic is designed for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us.
